Eighteen thematic chapters are being prepared for the CA synthesis and are at different stages of completion.
- Track 1 chapters have been scientifically reviewed in August 2005 and will be finalised by 20 February 2006.
- Track 2 chapters will be reviewed for the first time in December 2005 and will be finalised by 15 April 2006.
Track 1 chapters
Irrigation, Groundwater, Marginal quality water, Fish, Rice, Land, Basins.
- 15 November 2005 – second draft for internal review by CA author teams
- 15 December 2005 - deadline for second draft and start of wide review
- 20 January 2006 – second review complete
- 20 February 2006 – final chapter draft
- March 2006 – process of editing and publishing begins (authors plus editor)
Track 2 chapters
Conceptual framework, scenarios, history, summary for decisionmakers, livestock, rainfed.
- 15 November 2005 – first draft chapters for internal review, including selected reviewers
- 15 December 2005 – deadline for first draft and start of review
- 20 January 2006 – first review complete
- 20 February 2006 – second draft complete and start of wide review
- 20 March 2006 – second review complete
- 15 April 2006 – final chapter draft complete
- July 2006 – process of editing and publishing (authors plus editor)
For the whole book
- November 2005 through April 2006 - chapter finalisation with internal reviews across chapters, scientific review and wide consultations and reviews with chapter networks
- April 2006 – editing and publishing
- Through July 2006 – editing, layout
- August 2006 – delivery of the Summary for Decision Makers (SDM) in Stockholm
- August through September 2006 – publishing
- September/October 2006 – delivery of assessment at a launch event (details to be determined)
