While global awareness of land degradation is high, awareness of the benefits of integrated landscape approaches and cost-effective strategies to achieve it is not. Our assumption is that dialogue around research results can influence opinions, policies and strategies. RDL will engage in national and global dialogues making stakeholder differences transparent to facilitate agencies to identify and manage trade-offs and synergies in landscapes. In 2020 it includes engagement with African team involved in UNFCC negotiations, in order to inform with science-based inputs their reports and discussions. In 2021, we will strengthen our contributions to regional and sub regional forums. We will also be considering engagements at national level which have bearing on global contributions e.g. country contributions to UNFCCC, national level mapping e.g. for Ethiopia to support reporting to global levels.
