One more remark... we tried to integrate gender issues in the Compass. It is not as easy as it seems, because despite the generally acknowledged importance of the role of women, specific facts are scarce or are very diverse per region. Most of the general gender information (and hygiene) are more software than hardware issues and it is not easy to integrate such information with technical, institutional or economic facts. So in our case, we tried to include information or raise attention on fetching time, daily practice considerations and vulnerability issues. However, I am the first to admit that these aspects should get more emphasis. Perhaps if an irrigation DST is developed; that could 'cross-pollenate' the WaterCompass with new ideas in this regard...
