It could not only help eliminating less appropriate methods for diverse contexts, but it could also function as a common platform to collect key considerations and experiences that limit resilience of irrigation initiatives. When developing the WaterCompass, we briefly considered including irrigation methods as well. However, the more general such a tool becomes, the less specific it can be. So after some weighing of trade-offs, we decided to limit the scope of the tool. I think that instead of adding the irrigation methods, a similar tool could be relatively easily realized specifically for irrigation methods. The advantage of a novel tool would be that the context factors for evaluation could be specifically tailored to the irrigation needs.
