The irrigation sector has very similar classifications, but, as far as I know, not such practical tool. Should the irrigation sector develop such tool? Or would it be just an incremental improvement of the Water Compass - checking and adding for the somewhat larger discharges, as Suryakant does? I think the latter: most water technologies are anyhow used for multiple purposes. Multipurpose infrastructure is more cost-effective. And small-scale productive uses ARE already in the Water Compass as an option. And shouldn't any irrigation professional also think of the human right to water for domestic uses, also from a gender perspective? A relatively small additional effort would generate many benefits for the entire irrigation sector and WASH sector alike. Something for WLE?!
