The project attempted to quantify the contribution of wetland agriculture to household food security and income using a case study in Zambia. Some work has also been carried out Zimbawe and Swaziland. It also attempted to establish the tradeoffs between agriculture and environmental water use in wetlands by looking at impacts of wetland water use for agriculture on the wetland and catchment water budget.
