This project looks at analysis of economic impacts of irrigation at regional and national level in India, and quantification crop productivity and production intensification, and employment and rural wage structures of irrigation development in the recent past. This study also estimates how these irrigation benefits are distributed across the consumers and producers (farmers) in the economy, and its changing dynamics over time. By the ex-ante analysis, this study provided improved policy inputs and information base on irrigation impact analysis to Comprehensive Assessment program of IWMI, and the knowledge base of the Dialogue on Water, Food and Environment.
