Alvar Closas is a Researcher on Groundwater Management and Policy and currently the Acting Office Head of the International Water Management Institute's office in Cairo, Egypt. His expertise is in groundwater, spanning governance, public policy, regulation and institutions to community management, participation, and conflict resolution. He works on the GRIPP initiative and is exploring the sustainability of solar-powered irrigation pumps in the MENA region.
