This past September, the world’s heads of state came together at the UN to approve of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their 169 targets. These goals will aim to tackle the difficult issues of poverty, disease, and environmental degradation in a holistic and 'sustainable' way.
But what does this actually mean for researchers, grassroots actors, development professionals and policy makers? Will this new global development agenda change the way people work? Are the SDGs going to help us better manage our resources for a more sustainable future?
In this episode of Thrive Podcast, filmmaker Doug Varchol asks a few of the over 3,000 attendees of the Global Landscapes Forum (a major parallel event of COP21) what they think about these newly minted SDGs and whether they have begun incorporating them into their work.
