Former Lead of the Gender, Poverty and Institutions Research Theme, WLE

Fraser Sugden is the former head of WLE's Gender, Youth and Inclusivity core theme. He is a social science researcher and a senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. During his time at WLE and the International Water Management Institute, Fraser specialized in the political economy of agriculture and water management. He is a geographer by training, with research interests in rural class relations, land tenure, gender and migration, and their role in mediating access to water and other land resources.
