Diana Suhardiman is a Senior Researcher and Leader for Governance and Political Economy Sub-Theme at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), based in Vientiane, Lao PDR. She has over 10 years experience in natural resources governance with a particular focus on water governance in Asia. Her research focuses on multilevel policy and institutional analysis at the intersection of land, water, environment and energy in the Mekong region (Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, China Yunnan Province). Her most recent research includes the political economy of water governance in the Nu-Thanlwin-Salween River basin and the role of foreign direct investment in relation to natural resource governance in Laos and Cambodia. Diana is the author of recently published book: Bureaucracy and Development: Reflections from the Indonesian Water Sector.
