Daniel McGonigle manages the Productive and Resilient Farms, Forests and Landscapes Research Initiative at Bioversity International which looks at the role of crop and tree diversity within sustainable farming and forestry systems.
Dan has 15 years of experience working on sustainable agriculture from a research, advisory and policy perspective. Before joining Bioversity International, Dan worked at the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where he was responsible for agri-environment research programmes and scientific policy advice. This covered the impacts that farming has on water, soil, air and biodiversity. He set up and managed major research programmes on river catchment management and the sustainable intensification of UK agriculture.
Daniel has a PhD on the biocontrol of agricultural insect pests from the University of Southampton.
