Stockholm World Water Week 2016

The CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE) and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) will participate in this year's Stockholm World Water Week, organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

This year's theme is "Water for Sustainable Growth" and will focus on the inclusive use of this important resource for societal and human growth in all regions of the world. The event will also follow up on the implementation of the water related SDGs and the new climate agreement.

     Proper water management is a particularly tricky balancing act to achieve. There must be sufficient access to clean and safe water for consumption, sanitation, and agriculture, while communities must have enough disaster-risk infrastructure in place to deal with drought, flooding, and any other water-related issues.
