The Global Landscape Forum (GLF) is a global science-led platform that looks at sustainable land use. WLE has been involved with the platform for many years, participating and contributing to the regular meetings held by GLF around the world.
This year, GLF is holding an Africa centered meeting to address the severe deforestation and land degradation issues that plague the continent. GLF Nairobi is bringing together various private and public sector actors to see how to collectively restore these degraded landscapes for improved food security, biodiversity, and livelihoods. The meeting is also supporting the implementation of the AFR100, an initiative that aims to restore 100 million hectares of degraded landscapes across Africa by 2030.
Our partners at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) are representing WLE's work at the GLF and as part of the AFR100 by calling on their extensive experience with landscape restoration, conservation agriculture, and soil carbon sequestration.
