The Economist Events' Sustainability Summit 2016

The CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems is a supporting organization of The Economist Events' upcoming Sustainability Summit, to take place in London on March 15-16, 2016.

The newly launched Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have ushered in a new era for global development – where economic growth and sustainability are no longer mutually exclusive, but rather mutually dependent.

Finding ways to integrate environmental and social sustainability with economic prosperity is a prerequisite to advancing toward a food-secure future for all. It is a challenge that calls for innovation and collaboration across sectors, not least between research institutions and the private sector.

The Sustainability Summit provides a unique opportunity for WLE to build relationships with key stakeholders and to showcase its research. In the lead-up to the summit, the Thrive blog will publish a series of posts that discuss the roles that research can play in catalyzing shifts toward sustainability in the private sector and beyond.
