May I suggest the centre reviews similar work done by Jart Glas at CIP during 78/79. It must be in the CIP library.
For extrapolation domains, this PRD method could be of value in agroecologies where there is no precipitation and similar agroeclogical conditions found in the peruvian Coast (soil, temperature, evapotranspiraton, influence of the ocean winds, etc.), hard to find elsewhere in the world where there is lack of water. The key issue here is the bulb of water after infitration, regardless of full or partial irrigation. And starting PRD at 6weeks depends on the time of the year/variety/, good in the "winter" plantings....
A comparison using drip irrigation would be welcomed. There are now simple drip systems for smallhlders.
